Jo did a thorough and extremely professional job in the Preliminary Bat Survey. The report was detailed and received the same day- with clear guidance as to the way forward. Jo has excellent communication skills and gave clear and precise explanations in a professional and yet friendly manner. I can recommend him unreservedly for this type of survey.

Do not use Jo at any cost. He just hooks you in with a low price for a PRA and then despite finding no evidence of bats he states you must have 3 further surveys. All other ecologists I have used cannot believe he uses such poor money making tactics. Which also result in your building project being delayed a year just for his gain. I would not wish even my worst enemy to use Jo’s services. I got a second ecologist to do a new PRA and supply it to the council with a covering letter showing how much nonsense Jo’s report was to begin with. The council agreed with my second surveyor and will shortly be conducting an investigation with the board of ecologists on Jo’s money making behaviour. If you are reading this please learn from my mistakes and do not use him.

Jo provided an excellent service for our preliminary roost assessment. His communication was great throughout the process and he very quickly produced a report to aid our application process.

Very poor experience with Jo, recommended more surveys even though they weren't needed. Having just on rushcliffe council website, every surveys he does he just recommends more surveys. Would avoid.

Jo was really easy to work with. Communication was great and I was able to book a visit easily. The site visit ran smoothly and Jo chatted through his 'findings' at the end of the visit. The report arrived within 24 hours and provided a lot of detail including recommendations and mitigations that were accepted by the planners. Would highly recommend.

It was a pleasure to work with Jo on his completion of our Bat survey. Professional, very knowledgeable, efficient, and produced the report for us on the same day which is an excellent service. He was on time despite a lengthy journey and his follow up service was excellent. Highly recommend him.

Joe was an excellent surveyor; interesting, objective and practical. He explained the entire process, giving us a lot of helpful advice in relation to the bats, and the requirements of planning permission so that we feel very reassured about our next steps. I would recommend him to anyone needing a bat survey.

Whilst seeking planning permission for a replacement building my local Planning Authority requested a Bat & Bird Survey on my old worn out wood barn/stable complex. Jo attended the site promptly, did a thorough examination of the building over several hours and produced a detailed report on the very same day. The price was very good, more reasonable I thought compared to other quotations I had received and more importantly for me communication, both online and in person, has been excellent throughout. I can now happily move forward with my project and can fully recommend Jo.

We have been extremely impressed with Jo from the moment we made first contact - he has been responsive, knowledgable, professional and honest. Same day report meant we were able to crack on with our development with no downtime. If we ever need ecology or bat surveys again we will certainly use Jo and we would not hesitate to recommend him.

We required an initial bat roosting survey for a domestic extension, as we were raising the roof. After speaking to a number of companies, Jo’s quote was competitive but best of all he was able to undertake this within our timescale. He regularly communicated, asked the right questions, I admired his professionalism and honesty, and the appropriate level of detail in his report, even though it turned that our property presented a low to moderate risk of bats roosting, which then required us to undertake an additional set of surveys, Dawn and Dusk. Please also note that Jo does not undertake these next set of surveys, so there is no incentive for him to misrepresent the results to benefit from further work. He did kindly put forward three companies we could approach for additional surveys. Of the companies he put forward, we selected one, who I would also recommend. For an initial bat roost survey I would always recommend going to a company that is unlikely to benefit from additional surveys for that added piece of mind.
